’13 goals last season’ – Everton in advanced talks to sign Leeds striker

According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Everton is engaged in advanced negotiations to sign Leeds United striker Rodrigo during this summer’s transfer window, writes the GoodisonNews. The Spanish international appears ready to depart Elland Road after Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross suggests that Leeds United will not hinder Rodrigo’s departure if he wishes to leave the club. Discussions regarding his future took place between his father, agent, and the club’s top management at Elland Road.

It seems likely that Rodrigo will remain in the English Premier League next season. Tuttomercatoweb reports that Everton is actively pursuing the former Valencia star, and negotiations are already at an advanced stage. The Merseyside club aims to finalize the deal as early as next week.

Everton seems to be capitalizing on Leeds United’s relegation situation by targeting their key players, and Rodrigo is the latest name linked with a move to Goodison Park. Talks have allegedly taken place between Everton and Leeds regarding their star forwards Willy Gnonto and Jack Harrison, both of whom would be valuable additions due to their Premier League experience.

Considering Everton’s desperate need for a consistently goal-scoring striker, Rodrigo would be a sensible addition to their squad. Despite Leeds’ struggles, he was their most influential asset last season, scoring 13 goals in the Premier League. Rodrigo’s aggression, proactive approach, and leadership qualities from the front would provide Everton fans with a much-needed boost, especially after Dominic Calvert-Lewin endured a frustrating and interrupted season.

However, Rodrigo has experienced some injury problems of his own. If he completes a move to Everton, he should not be the only striker addition for Dyche’s side this summer.
