Tottenham Hotspur and reportedly interested in signing the Dutch international defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, relays the BHotspur.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Antonio Conte is looking to add more quality and depth to his right-back position, and he has identified the 26-year-old Inter Milan defender as the ideal target.
Dumfries has been a key player for the Italian club since joining them in 2021 and it will be interesting to see if the Serie A outfit are prepared to let him leave in the coming months.
The player is reportedly valued at €35 million.
Tottenham have had to rely on the likes of Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty for the right-back slot and both players have been quite underwhelming. The London club signed talented youngster Djed Spence from Middlesbrough during the summer transfer window, but the player has had very few opportunities to showcase his qualities for the first team so far.
It seems that Conte does not trust the youngster just yet and he’s looking for more proven options. Dumfries would be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham if they managed to pull it off.
The report from Calciomercato further claims that Tottenham could look to offer Emerson Royal in a deal for the Dutchman and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement soon.
The 26-year-old defender has proven his quality in the Dutch league and the Italian league so far. He could be tempted to try out a new adventure in England now.
