’18 goals this season’ – Everton reportedly sent scouts to watch Aberdeen goal hero

Last summer, Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes was signed by Aberdeen from Portuguese giants for a fee of approximately £400,000, with a sell-on clause in which Benfica would receive half of any future fee, as the 23-year-old mentioned in Portuguese media.

According to P&J, Everton has reportedly joined a growing list of admirers for the Cape Verde international who is currently in-form. A scout from the Goodison Park club was allegedly sent to Dingwall on Friday to watch Duk play against Ross County, where he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win, bringing his goal tally to 18 for the season in all competitions.

Burnley, who are the English Championship leaders and have already secured promotion to the top flight, are also interested in Duk and may make a potential summer swoop. Additionally, Duk is believed to be on the radar of Championship clubs Blackburn Rovers and Hull City, as well as Italian Serie A clubs Bologna and Spezia.

He told Portuguese media: “I have a contract with Aberdeen for two more seasons, until June 2025.

“Benfica has 50 per cent of my transfer. But right now I’m very happy here. I’m enjoying it a lot and I’m in no rush to leave here. I’m focused on Aberdeen and what I want is to keep scoring goals.”
