Alex Crook believes that former manager Mauricio Pochettino could return to Tottenham Hotspur when Antonio Conte departs, writes the TIF.
The Argentinian boss is now currently out of work and has been speaking with TalkSPORT out in Qatar during the World Cup and has now admitted he’s ready to get back into management, just over a year after being linked with a return to Spurs.
It was a largely successful time for Pochettino at Tottenham guiding them into the Champions League on numerous occasions even getting them to the final of that very same competition, only to lose out.
Crook has now claimed live on TalkSPORT that he believes Pochettino could make a sensational return in the near future.
“I could see him back at Spurs if Conte goes to Juventus – although he might not go to Juventus with their problems. I could see him back at Spurs.”
It would likely be a bittersweet moment if Pochettino was to return to Tottenham as a fan-favourite manager who brought about good times again would be joining once again, but then it would mean something had gone wrong between Antonio Conte and Tottenham.
Conte has a stunning track record of winning silverware at whatever club he is managing, so Daniel Levy and Tottenham will very much want him to replicate that this season, so a return of Pochettino won’t even be on anyone’s agenda at Spurs.
