Alan Shearer stated on the BBC that he was blown away by Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min after his ‘incredible’ assist for South Korea against Portugal that sent them through to the World Cup round of 16, writes the TIF.
South Korea defeated Portugal 2-1 thanks to goals from Kim Young-gwon and Hwang Hee-chan. Son was able to bag the assist for the winning goal and his side will now face Brazil for a place in the quarter-finals.
Shearer was full of praise for the move which lead to Hwang’s winner, as he sang the praises of Son for the part he played.
He said: “Everything about that goal was perfection. The run, the close control for him to get up there in the first place, and then to have the ability to pick that little pass and the weight of pass, the timing of the run and then the finish. It was meant to be, wasn’t it? Incredible.”
