In view of the recent developments at Juventus which led to the club’s entire board of directors resigning which included the club President Andrea Agnelli and Vice President Pavel Nedved due to allegations of false accounting and market manipulation in recent years, writes the THAB.
There were claims made of current Tottenham Hotspur Sporting Director Fabio Paratici being involved in the activities which are of concern to the Juventus board currently.
However, according to Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold, when asked in a Q&A, believes that the current situation at Juventus which could affect Paratici, would not have an adverse impact on the deals including Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Sweden international moved from Juventus to Spurs on an initial loan deal, which can subsequently be turned into a permanent deal. Bentancur, meanwhile, was a permanent transfer from the get-go and cost us 19million Euros.
“At the moment, it’s because it’s too early to know what’s going to come of it all, if anything. I’d be surprised if anything could [sic.] effect deals already agreed with contracts signed and players now at other clubs though.”
Resigning of the Juventus board sent shockwaves around the footballing world due to the nature of its timing and the unexpectedness of it happening.
Now, with new developments coming up with the investigations, many believed that Paratici, who was involved in the majority of the transfers at Juventus at the time including the mega transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
According to the Mirror via the investigations, Ronaldo has an impending payment of £17m from Juventus which occurred during his stay at the club. Hence, many Spurs supporters have been curious about whether such developments will impact Paratici.
The Italian chief has done a commendable job since leaving Juventus for Spurs. And this has come at a very bad time for him and the Lilywhites, with an important January transfer window on the horizon.
Alongside Antonio Conte, Paratici and the team excelled in the summer transfer window and got some big talents in Richarlison and Yves Bissouma among others and deserve a big credit for our current solid position in the league.
Hopefully, in the coming days, we would get more clarity on the situation at Juventus and whether there would be any links that could be established with Paratici and the Old Lady. One would hope his name is just on the list due to nothing more than the fact that he was a Juve employee.
For now, there seems to be nothing worry to about right now and we can only hope that Paratici is already looking out for the next targets that could potentially take us to the next level and challenge for the league title.
