Heung-min Son’s father has given an insight into why the Tottenham Hotspur forward is so comfortable finishing with his left foot in front of goal, writes the SpursWeb.
The South Korean forward has scored some important goals for the north London outfit, including a Premier League stunner against Leicester City in 2018 which left Kasper Schmeichel with no chance.
Coach Son Woong-jung has a reputation for having worked Son hard during his childhood to get him to the level that he has shown at Tottenham for the past few years (Korea Times).
Since moving to Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen, the 30-year-old has scored 136 goals for Tottenham in 344 appearances across all competitions (transfermarkt).
In an interview with Korean TV channel TVing‘s New Kids on the Block show, as translated by journalist Sungmo Lee:
“I taught him to use his left-foot first even when he’s washing his foot, wearing socks, or kicking a ball.
“On shooting training, I made him use his left foot 50% more than his (natural) right foot.”
