‘Conte already wanted him months ago’ – Tottenham are in contact to snatch signing

Over the course of the World Cup, it’s been clear that Morocco have some players that deserve to be at bigger clubs, writes the SW.

Sofyan Amrabat and Azzedine Ounahi are two of those, and the former has found himself thrust into the transfer rumour mill, with Tottenham among those interested.

Spurs have been looking at him for quite some time, and even tried to sign him before landing Rodrigo Bentancur, but they are ready to return for him.

That’s according to quite a few reports, with two new ones appearing on Friday about Tottenham pursuing the Morocco international.

La Nazione, relayed by Viola News, look at the defensive midfielder’s situation, and it’s made clear that the ‘automatic renewal option will be exercised’, and it’s believed the player will receive a bit more money to entice him to stay.

However, ‘all this could be questioned’ by big clubs, with Tottenham named, circling, as they have ‘asked for information’ about the player.

Gazzetta dello Sport also join in, adding that around a month ago, Amrabat ‘was worth €15-20m’, but now, any club prepared to offer under €30-35m would be ‘struggling’ to meet what Fiorentina want.

It’s stated we must ‘watch out for the Premier League’, where Liverpool are attentive and where Conte ‘already wanted him months ago at Tottenham’.

At this point, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Spurs manager was a bit annoyed at the whole situation, seeing as he and Fabio Paratici could have bought him for much cheaper if only they had pushed for him a bit more when they were in talks to sign him.
