‘We’ve not been that far’ – Moyes comments on European football will absolutely blow fans mind

David Moyes has insisted that West Ham are in a battle for the European places rather than the relegation spots, during an interview with talkSPORT, as relays the Hammer.News.

The Hammers are currently in a whole world of trouble, and are sitting in 16th spot in the Premier League table, just one point clear of the drop zone.

Moyes is under real pressure, having spent big in the summer transfer window by bringing eight top-class players to the London Stadium.

The Scot has reportedly already received a warning from the West Ham owners that performances and results must improve quickly.

In order to guide his side to a successful 2022/23 campaign on all fronts, Moyes should be looking to make a couple of signings in the January transfer window.

The Scot also needs to get the best out of the players who he signed in the summer, and that may well entail changing the current system and tactics that he deploys.

Now more than ever, Moyes needs to have full trust and faith in his own ability. And it seems as though that is something that isn’t in question.

The Scot is clearly a very confident man, and still has really high hopes for the second half of the Premier League season.

Moyes spoke to talkSPORT and responded when asked if he is concerned about the prospect of relegation for his Hammers side this season:

“No, I think I’m in a European battle to try and get back into Europe, like we’ve done in the last two years. I think that we’ve not been that far away in any of our results, and it sounds a long way away and it probably sounds farfetched at the moment. But I genuinely think we’re not that far away and expect us to get closer to the top than I do the bottom.”
