Spurs already in talks with La Liga club over potential deal for winger

Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur are already holding talks over a potential return to La Liga for Bryan Gil during the January transfer window, according to ABC Sevilla, informs the SpursWeb.

Gil arrived in north London from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 for £21.6m with Erik Lamela moving to Spain as part of the deal (Sky Sports) and found himself heading out on loan to Sevilla in January having made just nine Premier League substitute appearances — totalling 86 minutes of action (transfermarkt).

Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso confirmed in August that a deal had been reached to bring the Spanish international back to the club on a season-long loan, but Spurs would not release him until a replacement was found (90min), the deal failed to materialise and Gil remained in England.

This season has been a similar theme for Gil, who has featured for just six minutes in the Premier League which came as a late cameo in the win at Bournemouth.

Sevilla transfer guru Monchi is said to be working behind the scenes to improve the squad after they entered the international break in eighteenth place in the La Liga table.
