Don’t rule out West Ham manager David Moyes making a surprise January signing – that’s the message from a reporter very close to David Sullivan, writes the HammerNews.
The upcoming January transfer window represents a great opportunity for Moyes to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium.
West Ham are currently sitting just outside the relegation zone and with that in mind, it was really surprising to hear David Moyes suggest just last week that he won’t be signing anyone in the January transfer window (talkSPORT).
Since then though, Moyes has admitted that he could change his mind and make one or two signings, should the opportunity arise to do so.
If Moyes doesn’t strengthen this winter, it will be a massive error in my opinion, and could well end up being the final nail in his coffin at the London Stadium.
Having spent £170 million during the summer transfer window, Moyes would have liked to bed all of those players in at the London Stadium before signing anyone else.
West Ham’s current plight has almost forced his hand though.
And website Claret and Hugh, who have strong links with David Sullivan, suggest that a surprise January addition cannot be ruled out.
Quite who that new signing could be remains to be seen of course.
