The youngster was handed his second start in the space of a few days and really impressed in south London last night.

Gil was involved in three of Tottenham’s goals and really showed Conte that he is capable of stepping up in the absence of Dejan Kulusevski. And on-loan Spurs star Lo Celso was certainly impressed by the £22 million forward’s showing.

Gil took to Instagram last night and expressed his delight at picking up a vital win away from home. The Spaniard posted three pictures of himself in action at Selhurst Park and Lo Celso replied.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Villarreal but took some time to praise his old teammate by leaving three star eye emojis and the same number of round of applause emojis beneath the post.

Gill would have been disappointed after failing to make an impact against Villa a few days ago but he certainly impressed last night.

He linked up brilliantly with both Kane and Heung-Min Son in the second-half and gave Conte some food for thought about his readiness to play in the Premier League.
