‘I want to do it quickly’ – David Moyes has sent a message to fans

Following back-to-back games without defeat, David Moyes has sent a message to fans that good times again are around the corner, writes the WestHamWay.

West Ham knocked out in-form Brentford in the FA Cup at the Brentford Community Stadium in what was a hard fought victory in difficult weather conditions and a poor pitch, giving hope that the club are turning a corner from the poor domestic form which has dragged on for a number of months.

The victory over the Bees away from home followed a positive result at Elland Road in midweek, where Moyes’ side earned a valuable point against Leeds after 5 consecutive defeats in the Premier League – results that have dragged our Hammers into a relegation fight this season.

All connected with the club are hoping fortunes will change fast, and boss David Moyes has issued a bold statement to fans that a return to good form is now not far away.

Speaking to the press after the FA Cup 3rd Round win, Moyes stated that he feels that supporters can feel that good times are close to returning in east London, following an unbeaten start to 2023.

“When teams are not doing so well, it can be different,” said the Hammers boss. “But I sense the supporters think ‘there is something going on here’.

“It’s maybe not as good as they’d want at the moment, but it’ll not be too long until we’re back in good order.”

Moyes also stressed that reaching the heights of recent seasons is something that is in the forefront of his mind and that its his aim to get there as soon as possible.

“I’m dizzy that I want to get back to the heights of last year and I want to do it quickly,” admitted Moyes. “I want to get back to playing a level and obviously we’re off that level at the moment.

“So we’ve had to go back to a period when we had to be hard to beat and grind out games to get there and we did a bit of that today.”
