Tottenham Hotspur have been told to target ‘phenomenal’ Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk amid claims that Arsenal are chasing him, writes the FTT.
The Lilywhites backed manager Antonio Conte with eight signings over the summer transfer window, coming after the Italian guided Spurs to a fourth-placed 2021/22 Premier League finish.
Sporting director Fabio Paratici orchestrated the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie whilst also triggering a permanent deal for Cristian Romero.
However, given Spurs’ hectic fixture schedule, combined with a mid-season winter World Cup in Qatar, the north Londoners could need more strength in depth soon as eyes turn to January.
Speaking to Football Insider on Saturday, club ‘insider‘ John Wenham – who regularly breaks Tottenham news on his Lilywhite Rose social media accounts – has urged Spurs to consider moving for Gunners target Mudryk.
He explained: “I saw he [Mudryk] scored again last night and I saw their highlights from their win over Leipzig, absolutely phenomenal. I have also seen that he has been heavily linked with Arsenal, I just hope Tottenham’s scouts are aware of this guy.
“He looks a real find and he is now doing it at the top level in the Champions League. He looks fantastic.
“He was linked with Arsenal but if Tottenham come in then I expect they would get the player. He is definitely one to watch out for.”
