‘It won’t be long’ – Gold delivers a worrying update on a new Tottenham deal for Harry Kane

Alasdair Gold has told a Q&A session on Football London that Tottenham are not currently in talks over a new deal for Harry Kane – despite the England skipper now well within the final two years of his contract at Tottenham, writes the HITC.

Kane, 29, has made an excellent start to the season – scoring six Premier League goals in seven appearances. The striker has been revitalised under Antonio Conte, after failing to get a move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021.

While there were no doubts over his future in the most-recent window, Bayern Munich are now showing interest in Kane. Whether Kane is tempted over a move to Germany, is unknown. He would surely prefer to stay in England.

Staying in England would give him the chance to smash Alan Shearer’s Premier League records. Graham Potter is said to be keen on bringing him to Chelsea – and could offer a player-plus-cash deal involving Romelu Lukaku.

Tottenham fans are right to grow increasingly concerned, though. If Kane does not sign a new deal before the January window, or more worryingly, next summer – a move becomes possible. As things stand, talks are not ongoing.

“Nothing yet I’m afraid. Spurs haven’t kicked those off as of this point but surely it won’t be long,” Gold said, when asked by a Spurs fan on Football London’s website if there had been any discussions regarding Kane’s contract.
