Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 last night, and Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were the stars of the show, writes the TBR.
Spurs started the game in terrible fashion. They gave the ball away on a few occasions and Eric Dier’s terrible mistake inside the box gifted the visitors the lead.
Antonio Conte’s men, however, bounced back in style, scoring three times before half-time to seal the game.
Spurs were 3-1 up at the break thanks to a brace from Son and a penalty from Kane. Frankfurt’s Brazilian defender Tuta was sent off in the 59th minute, giving the hosts a huge advantage.
Tottenham, however, looked much worse in the second half than they did in the first. Even though they had plenty of opportunities to score – especially Kane from the penalty spot – they just couldn’t take them, and Frankfurt even pulled a goal back in the 87th minute.
That set up a nervy finish, but Tottenham held on and picked up all three points.
In his press conference after the game, Conte was asked about Kane’s missed penalty. The Italian said, as per Football London: “You know we are talking about a player that is very difficult to miss penalties.
“He’s a killer and I think that also today, in the end, he was really really tired because he ran a lot. He played for the team and I think he played in a fantastic way today.”
