Dwight McNeil is excited about the opportunity to team up with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and thinks that reuniting with Sean Dyche has positively impacted his fortunes at Everton, writes the LiverpoolEcho.
Although Dominic Calvert-Lewin has only featured once under Dyche and has struggled with injuries for the past 18 months, he is now edging closer to returning to action after joining full team training last week. Despite making just 12 appearances this season, Calvert-Lewin’s imminent return has McNeil eager to properly combine with him, as he feels his style of play is well-suited for Everton’s No. 9.
McNeil revealed: “We know Dom’s a big player for us. He’s got a couple of training sessions but I think the main thing is to get him match fit because he’s a massive part of our squad.
“I’ve not really played with Dom. I just know from experience of playing against him that he’s a massive threat.
“He’s good in the air but he’s good with his feet as well so he’s a big handful and everyones looking forward to having him back in the squad.”
