‘A substantial improvement in Tottenham’s ability’ – Finally some good news in Tottenham manager hunt

With the confirmation of sports director Fabio Paratici forthcoming, Tottenham finally have some good news to focus on, not only for the long term but also in the club’s hunt for a new gaffer, writes the HotspurHQ.

The Italian mastermind is responsible for a bevy of opportunistic, astute signings in his 11 years at Juventus. Now he is going to be an instrumental part of Tottenham’s behind-the-scenes transfer machine. Although in recent years it has been more of a Tonka toy truck trying to imitate a heavy-duty Caterpillar.

But hopefully, with Paratici’s expertise, experience and influence, Spurs are about to turn a pivotal corner. Paratici’s success at Spurs will be decided by many factors, none of which more important than Daniel Levy completely staying out of his way.

A substantial improvement in Tottenham’s ability to entice and land elite players is badly required at the club.

Much of a club’s ability to attract world-class players is predicated on that side’s participation in major competitions, namely the Champions League. There is no doubt Spurs absence from Europe’s top two competitions next season will hamper their aspirations of coaxing top talent.

That major detriment is at least slightly offset by Paratici’s impending arrival on the scene. The Italian transfer mastermind has proven time and again he can source and convince the world’s top talent to sign for the promise his projects guarantee.

His new role at Spurs unequivocally represents the 48 year old’s biggest, most difficult challenge of his storied career.

And his first assignment is a doozy; to help Levy choose, entice and land a new manager.
