Alan Shearer has given immense praise to Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah, who he’s described as an “all-round superstar”, informs The Chelsea Chronicle.
Chalobah, 22, has been the surprise package of the 2021/22 season so far at Stamford Bridge.
He had a brilliant senior debut for the Blues in their UEFA Super Cup final win over Villarreal before making a Premier League debut at the weekend.
The young defender kept his spot in the starting XI to play in Saturday’s 3-0 home victory over London rivals Crystal Palace in the league fixture. It was extra special given the fact he scored a low thunderbolt from outside the box.
Chalobah, who is a talent from the academy, has looked at ease in the right centre-back position in Thomas Tuchel’s XI. The versatile English star can play at centre-half, full-back or midfield as well.
Shearer was amazed by the Chelsea player’s weekend display.
“A goal on his Premier League debut. He was an all-round superstar against Palace. Chelsea’s Academy product looks very impressive,” he said.
It’s amazing to see the way Chalobah has taken everything in his stride this summer.
Tuchel has given the upcoming talent a chance after impressing in pre-season and he’s stepped up effortlessly.
He’s had several loan spells away from the Bridge, so what will happen with him now?
According to the Guardian, Chalobah “could” still end up leaving on loan for this campaign.
There are plenty of supporters who are desperate for him to stay because he’s more than shown he’s good enough to play for the Chelsea first team.
