According to Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur has expressed their desire to secure the services of five new players in the upcoming summer transfer window, informs the SpursWeb.
With Ange Postecoglou leading the team for his first season, it is anticipated to be a busy period at Hotspur Way, as the club plans to undergo a significant overhaul (Telegraph).
There are several incoming transfers expected as well. Football Insider reported last week that Postecoglou is seeking a new goalkeeper, a center-back, a wide forward, and a midfield enforcer for the squad. The recent developments suggest that Tottenham is close to announcing the signing of Guglielmo Vicario. Furthermore, Fabrizio Romano stated a few days ago that the club’s focus is now shifting towards acquiring a center-back and an attacking midfielder, with Edmond Taposba and James Maddison rumored to be on their wishlist.
Gold has disclosed that Tottenham aims to bring in a total of five new players, including two center-backs. During a Q&A session on Football.London, the journalist responded to inquiries about the number of signings Tottenham plans to make in this transfer window, stating, “The aim is at least five with the goalkeeper, two centre-backs, a central attacking midfielder and a preferably young winger.
“Of course that could increase depending on the opportunities that arise in the market that can’t be passed up as well the need to replace anyone a good bid comes in for that hadn’t been a definite departure before the summer.”
