‘Almost done’ – Fabrizio Romano issues exciting Tottenham transfer update

According to Sky Sports, negotiating personal terms is not expected to be an obstacle for Raya as Tottenham seeks a new goalkeeper to replace the veteran star Hugo Lloris, reports the FFC.

Brentford has set a valuation of approximately £40 million for the Spain international. However, Spurs are hesitant to pay such a fee considering that Raya’s contract at the Gtech Community Stadium expires in 2024.

The Telegraph understands that Manchester United is also interested in signing Raya to compete with or replace David De Gea. Nevertheless, Tottenham is believed to be in a favorable position to secure the 27-year-old’s signature.

Adding another goalkeeper to the squad is a top priority for manager Postecoglou, and it is considered one of the most urgent needs for the Australian manager at N17. talkSPORT reports that Raya is open to joining Spurs, and the club is attempting to persuade Brentford to lower their asking price for one of their valuable assets.

In a conversation with GIVEMESPORT, journalist Romano has indicated that Tottenham is edging closer to signing Raya this summer in north London.

Romano said: “The agreement on personal terms with David Raya is almost done. They are negotiating with Brentford, so I think Tottenham have a good chance of finding a way.

“They will not pay £40million, so the price has to change. But I’m sure the conversation will take place soon.”
