According to ESPN, Barcelona are ‘watching’ the situation of Cesar Azpilicueta at Chelsea at the moment.
The Blues defender sees his contract at Stamford Bridge reach its conclusion at the end of the season and there is said to be fears from the club’s players and staff that the Spaniard will leave on a free transfer.
Chelsea are thought to be ‘relaxed’ about his contract running down to its final few months because of his loyalty to the club.
Erling Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, has confirmed his client will leave Borussia Dortmund, but did not name Chelsea as one of the clubs he could move to.
Haaland was a target for the Blues over the summer transfer window, and with his contract with Dortmund reportedly including a £68million release clause – that is said to become active at the end of the season – the west Londoners may reignite their interest.
Raiola, when talking about his client’s future, said this to Sport 1: “Erling Haaland will take the next step. Bayern, Real, Barcelona, Man City – these are the big clubs he can join.
“Man City won the Premier League five times, significantly more than Man United. When we moved to Borussia Dortmund, we all knew that this step would come.”
