‘Be a true supporter’ – David Moyes sends message to West Ham fans

Following his team’s 5-1 defeat against Newcastle, West Ham United manager David Moyes has addressed the London side’s fan base, writes the TBR.

Despite Newcastle being in the top four and West Ham battling relegation, the Hammers put up a good fight in the first half, with a score of 2-1. However, the second half was a complete disaster as they quickly conceded and made several errors, leading to a terrible final score.

After West Ham’s 5-1 thrashing by Newcastle, some fans left the game early, which understandably left the fan base unhappy with the scoreline.

Moyes was questioned about this by Sky Sports in an interview that was released by Football Daily on Twitter. During the interview, Moyes urged the West Ham fans to support the team even during tough times, saying, “Sometimes when it’s not so good, that’s when you stand up and be a true supporter. You need everybody behind you.”

While this sentiment is understandable, it may not sit well with the Hammers faithful, who are only four points away from the bottom of the league. Poor performances and big losses like the one against Newcastle will make it difficult for Moyes to win over the fans. The upcoming fixtures are also challenging for West Ham, as they face Fulham away, Genk in the Europa Conference League, and Arsenal at home.
