Chelsea new manager Pochettino wants to talk with Dele Alli

Mauricio Pochettino has disclosed his desire to reach out to Dele Alli, offering support to the former Tottenham star, writes the TalkSPORT. The Everton midfielder enjoyed a fruitful period under Pochettino’s guidance during their time together at Spurs. Alli played a pivotal role in a squad that challenged for the Premier League title in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2019.

However, since his move to Everton in 2022, the 27-year-old has struggled to recapture the impressive form he displayed during his tenure at Tottenham. A loan spell at Besiktas last season further compounded his difficulties, leaving his future at Everton uncertain. In light of his decline, Pochettino has expressed his intention to establish contact with his former player in the hopes of guiding him back on track.

Mauricio Pochettino Expresses Willingness to Assist Dele Alli in Career Resurgence

“I hope to have some time to call and see because he is a great guy, and I want to talk a bit with him. I want to help him and see what is going on,” stated the Argentine boss, as reported by The Sun. Pochettino emphasized that Alli, despite his recent struggles, is still young and possesses the necessary mentality to overcome challenges.

Alli has since returned to Everton and reportedly showed commitment by being one of the first players to attend pre-season training. Manager Sean Dyche is expected to assess the midfielder during their preparations for the upcoming campaign, providing an opportunity for him to reignite his career.

Karl Robinson, Alli’s first-ever professional boss at MK Dons, spoke about the player’s aspirations to reclaim his spot among the elite. In an interview with talkSPORT in April, Robinson affirmed, “He still loves the game. He’s said that to me. He has the hunger to get back to the top, to where he was performing at the peak of his form.” Robinson acknowledged that Alli must navigate his own path and take responsibility for the consequences of his actions. As someone who has known Alli since he was 13, Robinson expressed his admiration for the player and his commitment to supporting him.

The football world eagerly awaits Alli’s resurgence, and with Pochettino’s willingness to extend a helping hand, combined with the backing of his current manager and former mentor, there remains hope for the talented midfielder to reclaim his former glory. As he strives to reconcile his footballing prowess with his personal growth, Alli must navigate the challenges ahead, while knowing that he has the support of those who believe in him both on and off the pitch.
