David Moyes provides injury update of key man ahead of Man City fixture

According to West Ham United manager, centre-back Kurt Zouma is likely to be out of action for “a few weeks” due to an ankle ligament injury, writes the football.london.

However, Moyes has not completely ruled him out for the remainder of the season. The injury occurred during West Ham’s 4-3 loss to Crystal Palace when Zouma attempted to slide and block Jordan Ayew’s shot, resulting in him leaving the field early and wearing a protective boot. The club is still evaluating his condition before their upcoming game against Manchester City on Wednesday.

“We’ve got one or two knocks and niggles,” said Moyes. “Kurt Zouma is the biggest fear, we think we might lose Kurt for a few weeks, but we’re still sort of assessing his ankle at the minute.”

Moyes was asked if Zouma would recover in time for the potential final, to which he responded that it’s difficult to determine an exact timeline for his recovery as Zouma has a history of healing quickly from previous injuries.

“I wouldn’t want to say just now because I’m not the medical man, but Kurt is a bit different,” added Moyes. “Kurt is incredibly good at getting himself ready and back fit. We’re hoping he will be fine.”
