David Moyes reacts to Pablo Fornals tears after scorpion kick vs Bournemouth

David Moyes has expressed regret at not giving more playing time to midfielder Pablo Fornals this season, following his incredible goal in the team’s recent 4-0 victory over Bournemouth, reports the football.london.

Fornals came on as a substitute for the last 25 minutes of the match, and seven minutes later, he scored a stunning acrobatic scorpion kick from a cross by Jarrod Bowen. Despite making 41 appearances in all competitions this season, Fornals has played just over 1,100 minutes in his 26 Premier League games and has started only 12 league matches.

Fornals’ stunning scorpion kick goal in West Ham’s 4-0 win against Bournemouth made him emotional, with tears in his eyes and love from the away supporters. In addition to his goal, he almost got an assist, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Moyes praised Fornals as a brilliant team player and great lad, admitting that he wishes he had given him more minutes this season. He also acknowledged Fornals’ ability to score goals and contribute to the team’s all-round play, stating that it has been difficult to find him enough time.

Moyes hopes to give Fornals more minutes and was pleased with his performance against Bournemouth, which almost led to another goal and assist. Although he had not watched the goal back yet, he believes it helped prevent a late comeback from Bournemouth and shows that Fornals has this skill in his arsenal.

“I’ve not seen it back yet,” added Moyes. “I was just thrilled that we got it because even at three, you were always saying if they get a goal, you can always put yourself [under].

“More so than ever, we are seeing teams coming from comebacks and we were 2-0 down last week. We saw Arsenal Southampton, 3-1 and a comeback, you never know at the moment how these things are going.

“It’ll be a good goal for everyone to look at, I don’t know if you’ve seen it but as I said, he’s got the ability, this boy, of getting goals and getting in goal-scoring positions. I’m really pleased for him.”
