‘Deal getting closer ‘ – Inter are now 4 millions away from signing Chelsea player

According to GOAL, Inter Milan and the club are now negotiating loan fees, with the two clubs reportedly only £4m away from coming to an agreement, write the TCC.

Lukaku’s future at Stamford Bridge looks bleak, after the clubs record signing’s disappointing return season.

Despite a promising start, the Belgian only managed eight league goals, with Thomas Tuchel preferring to utilise Kai Havertz in the central attacking role for the second half of the season.

After ending Juventus’ Serie A dominance in winning the league title in 2021, Inter seemingly began their rebuild, with Lukaku one of a number of big names to depart the San Siro, including Achraf Hakimi and manager Antonio Conte.

This saw them lose the league’s MVP from that season, who teammate at the time Ashley Young described as “incredible”.

However, reports suggest the 29-year-old has been keen to rekindle that relationship, after his widely publicised remarks at the turn of the year, where he claimed he’d love to return to the Nerazzurri while still in his prime.

Now, talks have accelerated for the striker’s departure, with GOAL reporting that the clubs are approximately £4m away from agreeing a loan fee. This comes after Inter apparently opened negotiations with a bid of around £6m.

While it was believed the Blues were holding out for over £20m for a one year loan, GOAL claim Chelsea would be willing to accept £10m for the deal now.

While it may not seem like Chelsea are recuperating much of the club record £97.5m fee that they paid for Lukaku, a move which sees the 29-year-old move on from the club is best for all parties.

Blues fans have shown patience with players like Timo Werner who have also endured poor spells in front of goal, because the German’s effort levels have always been top draw. You can’t say the same for Lukaku.

The Belgian obviously excelled for Inter two seasons ago, and is more than likely going to enjoy his time back in Italy.
