Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has explained why he would like Richarlison to join the club from Everton.
The pair often line up together for the Brazil national team, with the forward becoming a regular at international level thanks to his strong performances at Goodison Park.
Those displays have also produced a number of rumours in past transfer windows surrounding Richarlison’s future on Merseyside, with many of Europe’s top sides linked with a potential big-money swoop.
The 24-year-old will have two years left to run on his current contract at Everton by the end of this season, with reports before this campaign kicked off linking him with a potential switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Ederson clearly wouldn’t mind seeing his international team-mate make the move to the Etihad Stadium.
The keeper was asked which Brazil player he would like to see Man City make a potential move for, and the Everton forward was the one that came to mind.
Speaking to TNT Sports (via SportWitness ): “I’d bring the pigeon (the nickname for the Toffees forward). For the chats.
“He’s a goof, a clown. There are many words I can put on him.”
Richarlison played the full 90 minutes last weekend as Everton were beaten 3-0 by City at the Etihad.
However, a booking in the first half of that match means that he will be suspended for the Blues’ upcoming trip to face Brentford on Sunday.
