Edin Terzic is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement for Sean Dyche at Everton, as uncertainty grows over Dyche’s future. According to journalist Mark Douglas, writing for i News, Terzic is one of three managers in the running to succeed Dyche should the Toffees decide to part ways with their current head coach.
Alongside Terzic, David Moyes and Graham Potter are also mentioned as candidates to take over the reins at Goodison Park. Terzic, who is currently without a club after stepping down as Borussia Dortmund boss in June, is said to be keen on managing in the Premier League. His departure from Dortmund followed a defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, and his impressive tenure, which included a close run at the Bundesliga title the previous season, makes him an intriguing option.
Terzic’s availability in the summer would have made for an exciting appointment, especially given his recent success in Europe. However, the dynamics have shifted just four games into Everton’s campaign, with the team currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table. With Everton struggling, the club cannot afford to take a gamble on a manager without Premier League experience, and that could play against Terzic.
If Dyche is sacked, many see Moyes as the most logical replacement. The former Everton boss is familiar with the club and its culture, but his potential return may not be universally welcomed by the fanbase. Nevertheless, his experience and steady hand could be what the Toffees need to stabilize their season.
