Everton enters the race for a 105-goal Serie A attacker as several PL rivals are also interested

In the upcoming summer transfer window, there could be a potential clash between Everton and Leeds United over the acquisition of players from Atalanta. Reports suggest that a transfer deal involving Duvan Zapata, Willy Gnonto and Atalanta is in the works, as relays the GN.

Atalanta is said to have two conditions for signing Gnonto, one of which is the sale of Zapata, whom they want to offload. Everton is reportedly interested in signing the 31-year-old Colombian striker in the summer. If this deal goes through, it could potentially weaken Leeds, one of Everton’s Premier League rivals, especially if Atalanta also qualifies for the Champions League.

While Duvan Zapata has scored an impressive 105 goals during his Serie A career, he may not fit into Everton’s future plans. The Colombian’s value has reportedly decreased in recent months due to his lack of goals, which may tempt the Toffees to pursue him. However, it would not be a logical move for a team in search of a prolific striker to sign someone who is struggling to score.
