Everton Poised for Sponsorship Boost as Dan Friedkin Nears Takeover, Toyota Deal Expected

Everton Football Club could be on the verge of a significant financial uplift as American businessman Dan Friedkin moves closer to completing his takeover, with Toyota expected to join as a major sponsor, according to a report by The Athletic on 23 September.

Matt Slater, writing for the outlet, highlighted the potential for dramatic improvements in Everton’s financial situation once Friedkin assumes control.

His arrival is expected to bring in fresh capital to replace the club’s current debt, making the Toffees a more sustainable business, particularly with their upcoming move to a new stadium.

However, the club still faces the challenge of increasing its commercial revenue. With Friedkin’s company, The Friedkin Group, holding lucrative ties to the assembly and sale of Toyotas in the United States, Slater believes it is highly likely that the Japanese automaker will soon be added to Everton’s sponsorship portfolio. He stated he would be “amazed” if Toyota were not part of the club’s commercial lineup in the near future.
