Everton Football Club is on the verge of securing a deal for winger Arnaut Danjuma, as their loan bid for the Villarreal star has been accepted, writes the HITC. After a months-long saga that saw Tottenham Hotspur initially hijack the Toffees’ plans, Danjuma is now on the cusp of joining Everton for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Everton’s persistence has paid off, and they have managed to have their loan bid accepted for the Dutch winger. The plan is for Danjuma to leave Villarreal and spend the upcoming season on loan with Everton, with the player himself reportedly confident that this move will be the best decision for his career.
The Toffees had initially attempted to sign Danjuma in the January transfer window. Back then, the deal seemed all but done, with the winger even undergoing a medical with Everton. However, the managerial change at Everton, as Frank Lampard was sacked, opened the door for Tottenham to swoop in and snatch the player on loan for the rest of the season.
Despite the promising start with a debut goal for Spurs against Preston North End, Danjuma’s time at Tottenham didn’t flourish. He struggled for regular playing time and was not signed permanently by the London club at the end of the season.
Now, Everton is set to finally land their long-sought target, providing a timely boost to manager Sean Dyche’s attacking options. With Danjuma’s explosive talent as a winger, the Toffees will hope to revitalize his Premier League career at Goodison Park and unleash his potential in the 2023-24 campaign.
