‘Everything wrong with modern footballers’ – pundit slams Everton ace after what he spotted

Yerry Mina’s behavior during Everton’s 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester City in the Premier League did not go unnoticed by presenter Lawrence Bury, who was deeply unimpressed, writes the FFC.

Everton faced a tough challenge on Sunday afternoon as they played against the reigning champions, who have been in sensational form of late. Despite a good first-half performance, Everton conceded two goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland, which sealed the game for City.

The defeat ensured that Everton are still in the relegation battle, sitting in 17th place and one point clear of the drop zone with two matches remaining. Throughout the game, Mina was heavily involved in a physical battle with Haaland. However, there was a separate incident involving Mina that displayed his bad side, which did not involve the City striker.

Lawrence Bury criticized Yerry Mina’s conduct on Twitter, particularly his playacting after a clash with Aymeric Laporte in the first half of Everton’s match against Manchester City. Bury expressed his disappointment, calling Mina “everything wrong with modern footballers.”

While Mina is a talented player and a key figure for Everton, his behavior in that incident was regrettable, as he went down too easily after being touched by the City defender. Some fans might enjoy such theatrics from their players, but it did not affect the outcome of the game, and Mina’s reputation was tarnished as a result. Nonetheless, he has the potential to be a pivotal player in Everton’s remaining fixtures against Wolves and Bournemouth, and Sean Dyche will need him to be at his best.
