‘Excellent ‘ – Sean Dyche says £20m Everton player has been absolutely brilliant lately

Over the past few weeks, Abdoulaye Doucoure has been performing exceptionally well, according to Everton manager Sean Dyche.

As reports the TBR, the Toffees achieved a significant victory against Brentford on Saturday, thanks to a stunning finish from Dwight McNeil. Since taking over at Goodison Park, Dyche has faced a challenging run of fixtures, including two matches against Arsenal, Liverpool at Anfield, and an in-form Brentford side.

However, the Englishman has successfully lifted Everton out of the relegation zone and collected 10 points in his first seven games. Dyche praised Doucoure’s recent performances, describing them as excellent, during an interview with Everton TV in which he reflected on the impressive win over Brentford.

Everton boss said: “It was a fine goal. We pressed early. Great calmness from Douc [Doucoure], who was excellent again. It was Alex [Iwobi] into Douc and Douc finding Dwight, and then what a finish. You need that sometimes. The pleasing thing over the last number of games is that we’ve been more effective.

“We’re going into the box with more of an edge to score a goal. We didn’t score again after the first, of course, but we’re creating more.

“We’re asking more questions of the opposition and I think that’s pleasing.”
