Gary Neville says two Tottenham players need replacing by Conte ASAP

Former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville, has said that Tottenham need to replace both Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon to improve under Antonio Conte.

Reguilion got himself an assist while Doherty has enjoyed a resurgence of sorts in recent weeks. However, the pair were both found wanting defensively at times against United and struggled to perform to the required level. It meant the Red Devils ran out 3-2 winners, despite Spurs twice levelling.

And according to Neville, Spurs need to get better players in at wing-back if they are to reap the rewards of Conte’s plans at the club.

“They’re not good enough, nowhere near good enough. I think to play that system you have to have good wing backs in it and I think Reguilon and Doherty, the quality is not there in both sides of their game, defensively and going forward. I think if they had better wing-backs, they’d be doing a lot lot better,” Neville told Sky.

Tottenham are already said to be considering replacing Emerson Royal, while Ryan Sessegnon has been starting in recent weeks ahead of Spanish star Reguilon.
