In his interview with Il Corriere della Sera, Christian Vieri expressed his opinion that Gianluca Scamacca should do better at West Ham, writes the Football-Italia.
Vieri, who is the ninth-highest scorer in the history of La Nazionale with 23 goals in 49 appearances, was the leading centre-forward for Gli Azzurri in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
With Italy facing a selection crisis up front, including being forced to call up Argentine-born forward Mateo Retegui, Vieri shared his thoughts on the situation at Coverciano.
Vieri said: “Retegui is promising, he scored a great goal against England and played as a pure centre forward against Malta. Mancio was once again right, Retegui scores goals without many problems, but still has room for improvement.”
“He [Scamacca] is far behind, I thought he’d get regular playing time at West Ham. He must show something more and score more goals.”
