‘He’s earned his right’ – Moyes makes huge Declan Rice claim ahead of Manchester City

Ahead of tonight’s clash between Manchester City and West Ham, David Moyes has made a significant statement about Declan Rice, reports the HammerNews.

The West Ham manager will be hoping that Rice can lead his team to a surprise win at the Etihad against Pep Guardiola’s elite Manchester City side, who are widely regarded as the best team in world football. Central to their possession-based style of play is Rodri, whom many consider to be the best deep-lying playmaker on the planet. Rice will have an excellent opportunity to test himself against the very best, assuming he is selected to play.

During his pre-match press conference, David Moyes discussed his team’s upcoming clash with Manchester City, and according to the Daily Mail, he made a bold statement about Declan Rice. The West Ham manager reportedly said that Rice has the ability to play for any team in world football, including Manchester City.

Moyes further praised Rice, stating that the young player is constantly improving and has earned his place in the England squad. The manager also observed that every time Rice returns from international duty, he seems to have gained more confidence and skill.

“Declan is improving all the time. He’s still young, and he’s got a long way to go, but he’s improving. He’s earned his right to play for England and every time he’s come back from playing for England, I’ve seen someone new – with more confidence, with more about his game.

“He’s got leadership and things which will improve with age and time. But overall, he’s been very good. Declan could play for any club. No doubt about that. He can play different roles as well. He could quite easily fill in as a defender if required.

“He could play as an attacking midfield player. He could play as a No 6. He’s got the ability to play in several different roles.”
