Les Ferdinand has become the latest individual to sing the praises of Harry Kane as the England captain continues to shine for Tottenham and England.
Kane has emerged as one of the game’s key figures as well as one of it’s most lethal strikers.
The England captain is a reliable goal-getter for both club and country and he is one that keeps earning the praise of several individuals around the footballing world.
Kane has already scored 150 Premier League goals and he is on course to break the goal scoring records in both the Premier League and for the England national team.
Ferdinand was speaking about the striker and he revealed that after Kane went on an unsuccessful loan spell at Leicester City in England’s second tier, he returned to the club determined to make it.
He added that something clicked and since then, the striker has been unstoppable.
He spoke about him being the first in the gym and returning there in the afternoon to work on his weight, among other things to keep himself in top shape.
“I should say, first and foremost, congratulations to Harry for making it into that top 10, even though he’s kicked me out!” smiled Ferdinand as he spoke to the Tottenham official website.
“People always ask me, ‘when did you see the change?’ and when Harry was on loan at Leicester (second half of 2012/13), he didn’t have the best time there, he came back, and something clicked.
“He’d be in early in the morning, working in the gym on his weights, back in there in the afternoon as well. He had the bit between his teeth and when we took over (December, 2013), he was champing at the bit to get into the team. We let him loose and he’s not turned back!
“He’s gone from strength to strength since then, and not just strength to strength, he’s getting better all the time. We all speak about his progress, and I’ve nothing but admiration for him.”
