‘He’s sharp, he’s quick’ – Moyes praises the 26-year-old’s outstanding form at West Ham

West Ham United manager David Moyes has showered praise on the outstanding form of Jarrod Bowen, highlighting his importance to the team, writes the Hammer.News.

Moyes secured the services of Jarrod Bowen from Hull City in January 2020 for a reported fee of around £20 million. Since then, the 26-year-old has developed into a crucial player for the Hammers, amassing an impressive record of 45 goals and 32 assists in 165 games. This season, Bowen has continued to shine, contributing five goals and one assist in just seven matches.

While Bowen’s current contract with West Ham expires in the summer of 2025, there are strong indications that the club is keen to secure his services on a new long-term deal.

Renewing Bowen’s contract is expected to be one of Moyes’s top priorities in the coming months, reflecting the high regard in which the manager holds the player. Bowen’s performances are integral to West Ham’s success, and he plays a vital role in the team’s attacking dynamics.

Speaking to BBC following West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at the London Stadium, Moyes expressed his thoughts on Bowen’s current form. He stated, “He’s as good as he’s ever been at the moment, he really is. He’s sharp, he’s quick, he’s a threat. It was a lovely finish today but more importantly, his all-round game has got much better.”

Moyes’s words highlight the remarkable progress Bowen has made since last season, suggesting that he put in significant effort during the offseason to elevate his game.

Indeed, Bowen’s current form demonstrates that he has developed into an elite attacker. His attributes, including strength, low center of gravity, skill in tight spaces, exceptional finishing ability, and strong work ethic, make him an all-around player of exceptional quality.
