‘How crazy is this…’ – Deulofeu wowed by West Ham player after win over Bournemouth

Following West Ham United’s 4-0 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday, Gerard Deulofeu took to his Instagram story to describe Pablo Fornals’ scorpion kick goal as “crazy”, writes the HITC.

Fornals joins a select group of players including Olivier Giroud and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who have scored such goals in the Premier League. The Spanish midfielder, who had not scored a Premier League goal for West Ham since August, left his former Everton teammate impressed, prompting Deulofeu to write, “How crazy is this, doctor,” on his Instagram story.

Despite spending heavily during the summer, David Moyes’ West Ham side have struggled to replicate their previous European finishes, leading to speculation about the manager’s future. However, the team seems to be hitting form just at the right time, as they push for a spot in the Europa Conference League.

Although they faced a tough challenge from Gent in Europe on Thursday, they were able to comfortably beat Bournemouth, who are also battling relegation. With 34 points, the Hammers sit in 13th place, six points ahead of 18th-placed Everton, who earned a draw against Crystal Palace despite playing with ten men.

Many believe that West Ham has done enough to secure safety and just need one more win. Recent positive results in the league, following a heavy defeat to Newcastle United, have allowed the team to focus more on their European campaign and aim for a much-needed trophy.
