‘I doubt it’ – Sean Dyche issues frustrating verdict about Seamus Coleman injury

According to Sean Dyche, it is unlikely that Seamus Coleman will feature for Everton again this season after sustaining knee ligament damage during their 1-1 draw against Leicester on Monday, writes the RTÉ. Despite Coleman’s social media post claiming that he did not suffer anterior cruciate ligament damage, Dyche believes that the injury will still prevent him from playing in the Toffees’ remaining four games.

Dyche said: “It’s still a ligament injury that needs sorting. Obviously everyone feared it was ACL, it is not so that’s good for him.”

Asked if he would return this term, Dyche added: “I doubt it.”

In terms of the match result, Everton’s draw on Monday meant they remained in 19th place on the Premier League table, although they are just one point behind the three teams above them. Despite having 23 shots on goal, they were lucky not to concede more when Jordan Pickford saved a penalty from James Maddison, preventing Leicester from taking a 3-1 lead before halftime.

Dyche saw the performance as a confidence booster for his team and a sign that they are on the right path. However, with upcoming matches against Brighton, who are in contention for a spot in Europe, and Manchester City, the reigning champions and favorites to win the title, Everton cannot afford to play so openly.
