‘I like him’ – Micah Richards seriously impressed by Everton young star

James Garner has garnered significant praise from Micah Richards, who expressed his admiration for the Everton youngster following the club’s successful bid to remain in the Premier League, writes the TBR.

Richards shared his thoughts on Garner during The Monday Night Club, following Sean Dyche’s team securing a crucial victory on the final day of the season, ensuring their survival.

While the relief of avoiding relegation is undoubtedly important, Everton must now swiftly shift their focus to determination. The club has faced the threat of relegation for two consecutive years, and progressing forward will prove challenging, given the financial limitations they currently face.

Although there are clear areas that Everton needs to strengthen, there are also several highly talented players within the squad. Richards, in particular, recognizes the immense potential in James Garner.

Richards told The Monday Night Club: “They need a striker ASAP. Calvert-Lewin when he came back, did such a good job. But I think when you talk about styles of play – yes, Everton fans might want a nicer brand of football – but if you look through that team, they’re winners, they want to work hard. And they fight. And that’s how they got the result against Bournemouth. Garner’s a flair player, even though he had to do a job on the wing. But he’s a tidy player. I really like him.”
