Leon Osman expressed his strong desire to see Leeds United forward Rodrigo become a player for his former club, writes the FLW.

The Brazilian’s future is uncertain following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship. During an interview with Premier League Productions, the former midfielder predicted that several clubs would show interest in acquiring the services of the 32-year-old during the upcoming summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds would be willing to allow his departure in the upcoming transfer window. Nevertheless, Osman would be thrilled to see Rodrigo join Everton, especially after their successful survival in the top flight, which came at the expense of Leeds. The 42-year-old emphasized that Rodrigo’s injuries throughout the season likely played a significant role in Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

He firmly believes that if the player had been more available, Leeds’ chances of remaining in the Premier League would have greatly increased.

Osman said: “He is a player a lot of teams will look at. As an Everton fan, I would love to have him.

“He was injured for a large part of the season, Leeds definitely missed him.

“If they had him for a lot longer maybe they would have done more.”

During the course of this season, Rodrigo was named in the starting lineup for 23 league matches, while also making eight appearances as a substitute. The forward showcased his goal-scoring prowess by netting an impressive 13 goals, surpassing all other squad members, with the next highest scorer managing only five goals. This season proved to be Rodrigo’s most prolific in English football since joining Leeds following their promotion in the summer of 2020. In total, he has accumulated 26 goals and provided an additional four assists for the team during their tenure in the Premier League.
