‘I’m feeling at home’ – Spurs summer signing opens up on his first months at the club

Carlos Vinicius has admitted that he is delighted with the way things have gone for him at Tottenham Hotspur so far and revealed that he already feels at home in North London.

Spurs snapped up the Brazilian on a season-long loan deal from Benfica with an option to buy him permanently for £41m at the end of the season.

Although Vinicius has made only one Premier League appearance for Tottenham so far, he has impressed in his Europa League outings, having scored three times and assisted a further three in his five matches in the competition this season (transfermarkt.com).

Speaking about his time at the club so far, he told Globo Esporte: “I am very happy with this start at Tottenham, to be helping the team, and I am very motivated to do even more.

“The whole team, the technical committee welcomed me very well and I’m feeling at home here.”

Vinicius failed to make the matchday squad for Tottenham’s trip to Anfield on Wednesday, with Football.London confirming that the striker was fit but Jose Mourinho decided to leave him out in favour of other attacking options.

With games coming thick and fast over the next couple of months and with Tottenham involved in multiple competitions, Vinicius is confident that he can have a part to play in what may be a successful season for the club.

The striker added: “We are well in the Premier League, classified in the Europa League, we have the cups, so it is to focus on work, game by game so that in the end we can celebrate.

“It’s important to score goals at a new club, a new challenge. This brings even more confidence. But all of this is the result of collective work.

“We have a very qualified team with great players, a fantastic coach. So we have everything to make a great season.”
