‘It’s unbelievable’ – Michail Antonio says there’s something he ‘has to say’ about Liverpool fans

During an appearance on The Footballer’s Football Podcast alongside Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson, West Ham United striker Michail Antonio shared his admiration for Liverpool fans and the atmosphere at Anfield, relays the RTK.

Antonio praised the Merseyside club’s supporters, stating that there’s no other fan base like it, and described the atmosphere at Anfield as “unbelievable” when it’s going well.

The Jamaica international has played against Liverpool 12 times and has scored five goals.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Antonio. “When it’s going it’s unbelievable.

“That’s one thing I have to say about Anfield.”

Despite Liverpool’s struggles this season, they possess a powerful asset in their fans. Among Premier League clubs, Liverpool may be the only team whose supporters can have a significant impact on match outcomes. Anfield, especially on European nights, can be an intimidating fortress that visiting teams dread. The fans’ singing and chanting can lift the players on the pitch and provide an additional burst of energy. West Ham United striker Michail Antonio’s comments about Liverpool’s fans are likely echoed by many other Premier League footballers.
