Joe Rodon admits Spurs move was a “distraction”

Joe Rodon opens up on how transfer to Tottenham Hotspur happened, as reports the football.london.

New Tottenham Hotspur centre back Joe Rodon has spoken about how his transfer to the club happened and how the prospect of a move to north London made it hard for him to concentrate on international duty.

Rodon signed for Spurs after protracted negotiations with Swansea City, finally joining the club close to the Championship transfer deadline.

The Welshman has revealed when he was first aware of Tottenham’s interest and how the prospect of a transfer made it hard to concentrate on playing for Wales at the time.

“It was the first Monday, the first deadline was when it started to develop,” he told reporters (via Wales Online ). “After Bulgaria it was basically non-stop. It was all kicking off. But I was delighted to get it over the line.

“It was quite hard, the Bulgaria game, in particular, was the hardest to concentrate. When I knew it was true and it was developing the way it was. It was quite hard to switch off. But we got the win and everything went well.”
