Lampard’s favorite could leave this week as Turkish giants plot shock signing

According to a report from Turkish outlet A Spor, Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi is keen on leaving Goodison Park and has his sights set on a Turkish league before their transfer deadline, relays TeamTalk.

Although Iwobi had a strong start to the season, registering one goal and five assists in the first 12 Premier League matches, he has not been as effective in the second half of the campaign.

It is uncertain whether Iwobi is an important part of Everton’s future plans, and the player is said to be unhappy at the club. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, are interested in signing Iwobi to bolster their attacking options and are looking into signing him on loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Talks between the two clubs are reportedly at an advanced stage, and a transfer could be completed before the Sunday deadline. The report does not specify the reason for Iwobi’s desire to leave Everton, but one potential reason could be his failed contract negotiations earlier this season.
