Latest Lucas Paqueta injury update ahead of clash v Gent

According to the Evening Standard, Lucas Paqueta, the playmaker for West Ham United, is available for selection in the club’s Europa Conference League match against Gent on Thursday (13 April) after recovering from injury, relays the WHZ.

The Brazilian missed the team’s 1-0 victory over Fulham last Saturday after suffering an injury in their 5-1 defeat to Newcastle the previous week. West Ham will face the Belgian team in the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League on Thursday before hosting Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday. The Evening Standard reported that Paqueta returned to training on Tuesday, and manager David Moyes expected all players except Gianluca Scamacca, who is sidelined with a knee injury, to participate in training on Wednesday. West Ham has won ten consecutive games en route to the last eight of the competition and will seek to maintain their remarkable European form this season.

According to the Evening Standard, West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta, who has returned from injury, could make a significant impact in their upcoming Europa Conference League game against Gent. Despite his inconsistent performances since joining the London Stadium last summer, the playmaker possesses the ability to influence a game with his skill. While he is unlikely to start after being sidelined over the weekend, having him on the bench to potentially unlock a tired Gent defence could be advantageous.

Additionally, having him fit for the Premier League relegation battle is excellent news. Paqueta’s absence last week might have caused concern for Hammers fans, but with a full squad to choose from, Moyes can make a few changes to the side that secured victory at Craven Cottage. So far this season, the manager has rotated his West Ham United team in the Europa Conference League.
