You can always rely on the odd interview or two to keep you entertained during an international break without domestic football and our beloved Chelsea.
Oddly enough though, it is Chelsea being talked about in the media once again, and more specifically, Thomas Tuchel’s three at the back formation and tactics has been highlighted.
Unfortunately though, not in the correct way.
A Journalist was speaking to Holland manager Louis Van Gaal regarding his own tactics and formation, and comparing it to Tuchel’s at Chelsea, and then making the mistake of calling it defensive.
Unfortunately for this Journalist, as reported below, the former Manchester United manager shut him down immediately with some harsh but totally fair words for the poor lad.
Van Gaal rightly corrects him and says that with a formation like Tuchel’s, you can still ‘attack very well’, which is exactly what Tuchel has been doing with Chelsea since he arrived last January.
Journalist 🗣 “You want to play 532, like Chelsea. Defensive football.”
van Gaal 🗣 “You have 0 knowledge about football. You are a journalist who wants to share his vision, but you don’t have a vision. With 532 you can attack very well. And hats off for Tuchel for showing it.” pic.twitter.com/1kgWgqpqgc
