Everton manager Sean Dyche is optimistic that midfielder Amadou Onana could be fit and ready to play in their upcoming match against Newcastle United on Thursday, reports the LiverpoolWorld.
Onana was absent in the last two games due to a groin injury, including the team’s 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace last weekend. Unfortunately, this draw caused Everton to drop into the Premier League relegation zone, with only six games remaining to secure their position in the top-flight.
Abdoulaye Doucuoure will return to the Everton squad for their upcoming game against Newcastle, having served a three-match suspension. However, Amadou Onana’s availability remains uncertain after missing the last two matches due to a groin injury. Meanwhile, Seamus Coleman, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for the previous two games, is doubtful for the Newcastle match.
Sean Dyche has stated that Coleman is making progress, and they will assess Onana’s fitness over the weekend. On the other hand, Mason Holgate will miss the Newcastle match following his red card against Crystal Palace. Newcastle head into the game in high spirits following their 6-1 thrashing of Tottenham.
